Germany is Europe’s number one research location. The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched a comprehensive national strategy in 2006, known as the High-Tech Strategy (HTS), as a new policy instrument to push forward research in innovative areas. Innovation areas comprise research in the following fields:

The centre informs potential applicants about the federal research structure, funding programmes and the persons to contact as well as about current funding priorities and initiatives.
